A waitlist conversion calculator is an interactive tool that takes your monthly visitor count and signup count, returns your conversion rate, and benchmarks it against named companies in the same band.
Plug yours in below.
The five bands are not arbitrary. Each one is anchored to a real launch.
0-2 percent: broken. The hook is unclear, the offer is missing, or the traffic is wrong.
2-5 percent: working but underperforming. Working pages with leaks.
5-10 percent: healthy. Same band as Notion, Tana and most YC-stage waitlists at launch.
10-15 percent: strong. The Beehiiv and Linear band, where the page itself is close to optimal.
15-25 percent: top decile. Robinhood and Substack territory.
25 percent and up: usually warm traffic. Superhuman's 27 percent on invite-only is the public ceiling.

5 percent is the threshold to clear. 10 percent means the page is working. 15 percent plus is unusual and usually indicates either a strong scarcity hook (invite-only) or very warm traffic. Below 5 percent the page or the audience needs fixing.
Signups divided by unique visitors over the same window, expressed as a percentage. Use monthly numbers for stability. Day-level numbers are noisy unless you have over 1,000 visitors a day.
It can, but warm traffic skews the rate higher than cold traffic would, so the benchmark band shifts. If most of your visitors come from a founder's existing audience or a newsletter, expect to convert 2-3x what a cold traffic page would.
Superhuman is the public benchmark at roughly 27 percent on invite-only traffic. The number is widely cited by First Round Review. The combination of invite-only positioning and a human onboarding call did most of the work.
Cold traffic almost always converts worse than warm traffic. As you scale into cold sources (paid ads, SEO, X posts from new accounts), the rate drops, even though absolute signups grow. This is normal. The rate-vs-volume tradeoff is the real lever to manage.
If the rate is healthy and the bottleneck is now traffic, the highest-leverage move is a launch video on X and LinkedIn paired with a coordinated creator amplification block.
Flowjam is the launch video studio behind launches from Charms, Origami, Instantly and dozens of YC batches. Animated 60-second launch videos from $5,000, creator amplification coordinated free.
